In addition to his talent as a singer, he also made his acting debut in 2015 in an episode of Chicago Fire and Sirens.
His father was a pastor and his mother taught in a gospel choir. He has a sister and a brother.
He competed against fellow singer Keith Semple in the 9th season of the Voice.
