A leading political analyst for MSNBC and Time magazine, this American commentator and journalist also co-wrote two politically-themed nonfiction works: Game Change (published in 2010) and Double Down: Game Change 2012 (published in 2013).
After graduating from Harvard University in 1987, he worked as a researcher and reporter for ABC's World News Tonight.
In 2006, he began serving on the board of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics.
He grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, as one of three sons born to Ina Young and American foreign policy expert Morton Halperin.
After making an inappropriate on-air comment about President Barack Obama, he was temporarily banned from providing political commentary on the MSNBC network.
