Mark Gonzales
Skateboarder
Nicknamed The Gonz, he is a professional skateboarder and artist notable as a pioneer of modern street skateboarding. Transworld Skateboarding Magazine called him the "Most Influential Skateboarder of all Time" in December 2011.
He began to make a name for himself as a skateboarder at 13, and two years later was already adopting an innovative approach to skateboarding in a street context.
He appeared in four films through his career: Gummo (1997), How They Get There (1992), Beautiful Losers (2008), and Southlander (2003).
He is of Mexican descent. He would reside in New York City with his wife and daughter.
He was featured in the music video of the song "West Coast" by Jason Schwartzman's band Coconut Records.
