Winger and right back who netted 20 goals in 167 appearances for Portsmouth from 1988 to 1994. He also made 11 appearances for Stoke City from 1982 to 1985 and was a member of the English national team from 1982 to 1984.
He debuted professionally for Port Vale in 1978 after coming up through the club's youth system.
He served as player-manager of Fareham Town during his last professional season, 1997-98.
He was born in Staffordshire, England.
He was teammates with the great Gary Lineker on the English national team.
