He began his professional career with the Cameroonian team Renaissance FC de Ngoumou in 2010.
He played for the Cameroon U17 team from 2010 to 2011.
His father Papa Obekop also played professional soccer.
He joined French star Thierry Henry on the Red Bulls in 2013.
