Mario Runco Jr.
Astronaut
Physicist, United States Navy officer, and astronaut. He participated in three NASA spaceflights: a 1991 Space Shuttle Atlantis mission and 1993 and 1996 Space Shuttle Endeavour missions.
Prior to becoming an astronaut, he worked as a research meteorologist for the United States Navy.
He was a recipient of a NASA Exceptional Service Medal.
He had two children with his wife Susan.
He and Frederick Gregory both served on the crew of the 1991 U.S. Department of Defense's STS-44 space mission.
