Marie-Claude Pietragalla

Famous for her work with the Ballet de l'Opera National de Paris, the National Ballet of Marseille, and the Opera Bastille, this French ballet dancer and choreographer was the 1998 recipient of the prestigious Prix Benois de la Danse.
She began performing with the Ballet de l'Opera National de Paris in her mid-teens and became a principal dancer with the company in her late twenties.
Choreographer Carolyn Carlson created a solo dance show for Pietragalla titled Don't Look Back.
She was born and raised in Paris, France.
In 2000, Pietragalla was involved in the creation of a ballet called Sakountala that focuses on the troubled psychology of late 19th and early 20th-century French sculptor Camille Claudel.
