Famous for her starring role as La Chilindrina on the Mexican television comedy series El Chavo del Ocho, she is also notable for her recurring roles on Chespirito and El Chapulin Colorado.
She made her big screen debut at the age of seven in the movie Pulgarcito and, a year later, began contributing voice acting work to the Spanish-language versions of The Munsters and The Addams Family.
She played a starring role in the 1990 movie Sor Batalla.
Born Maria Antonieta Gomez Rodriguez, she grew up in Mexico City with six older siblings. Her marriage to Gabriel Fernandez began in 1971 and produced children named Veronica and Gabriel.
She co-starred with Carlos Ponce in the telenovela Dame Chocolate.
