Daughter of actress Marlene Dietrich. She was a mainstay of 1950s live shows on CBS.
She started acting at age nine with a small role in Josef von Sternberg's film The Scarlet Empress.
She also published a biography of her mother after her death.
She had four sons with William Riva.
One of her last on-screen appearances, when she was already living semi-retired, was in Bill Murray's Scrooged.
