She was an international swimmer in her youth, winning three medals at the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships.
She wrote a children's book in 2007 called The Magic Cane.
She and her six siblings were born to Puerto Rican politician Jose Enrique Arraras.
In 2003, she conducted a rare Spanish-language interview with pop star Ricky Martin.
