Margaret Dryburgh
Missionary
Missionary who was captured in Singapore during WWII, and was held captive in a Japanese prisoner of war camp.
She was a teacher of History, French, and Latin before becoming a Presbyterian missionary.
She was known for organizing a Glee Club and choir with her fellow inmates, before eventually dying of dysentery.
Her mother was also a missionary.
Her story of imprisonment was told in the movie Paradise Road starring Glenn Close.
