He played youth soccer at Jupie Podlavice.
He played for Slovakia's under-17 team in 2003-2004.
He was born in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, which at the time was Czechoslovakia.
He joined center back Martin Skrtel on the Slovakian national team in 2007.
