Marcella Detroit
Pop Singer
Singer and songwriter with a 1982 debut album called Marcella who later joined Shakespears Sister in 1988. She is also notable for co-writing the 1977 Eric Clapton song "Lay Down Sally."
She played for different bands in her hometown of Detroit beginning in the 1970s. Bob Seger signed her band Julia up to tour with him.
In 2010, she finished in third place on the ITV series Popstar to Operastar.
She was born Marcella Levy. She married Lance Aston and they had a son named Maxwell who was born in 1991.
She sang alongside Siobhan Fahey as part of Shakespears Sister and was the vocalist on the duo's biggest hit, "Stay."
