She began studying acting at the Teatro Nacional de Bogotá at age 8.
She won a Cartagena Film Festival for Best Supporting Actress for her performance on Todos Quieren Con Marilyn.
She has a son named Emiliano with actor and ex-boyfriend Gregorio Pernia.
She appeared with Javier Bardem in the romance Love in the Time of Cholera.
