Pioneer in contemporary flamenco guitar music composition. In 2000, he was the winner of the Premio Nacional de Musica.
His compositions "Fantasía para guitarra y orquesta," "Trebujena," "Medea," and "Soleá" brought him great acclaim and recognition.
He was the recipient of the Premio Nacional de Musica in 2000.
He was born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. His baker father inspired both him and his brothers to take up musical instruments, especially the guitar.
He and Val Ramos were both considered pioneers in flamenco guitar performance.
