Forward whose NBA career spanned from 1992 to 2000 with the Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Minnesota Timberwolves. He was tragically killed by a drunk driver while on his way home from a birthday party.
He played college basketball at St. John's University and was picked 14th overall by the Pacers the 1992 NBA Draft.
In his memory the Minnesota Timberwolves retired his #2 jersey, and his former teammate Kevin Garnett tattooed Malik's name on his right arm.
He was named by his father after Malcolm X, whom his father protected as a bodyguard.
Kevin Garnett was his teammate and best friend, and it was his birthday party Malik attended the night of his accident.
