Best known for his role as Theo on the television series The Cosby Show, he is also known for playing Malcolm McGee on the UPN sitcom Malcolm & Eddie and Dr. Alex Reed on the BET sitcom Reed Between the Lines.
He developed a passion for acting at the age of nine, and he went on to attend graduate high school at The Professional Children's School in New York City. He made his first TV appearance in a 1982 episode of the crime series Matt Houston.
He provided his voice for the character The Producer on the animated series The Magic School Bus from 1994 to 1997.
He was in a relationship with his Cosby Show co-star Michelle Thomas from 1988 until her death in 1998. He also had a longterm relationship with Cosby Show star Karen Malina White.
He co-starred with Eddie Griffin on the series Malcolm & Eddie from 1996 to 2000.
