Basketball Coach
Late basketball coach best known for engineering the surprising turnaround of the United States Military Academy women's basketball team in 2005. She died unexpectedly from an enlarged heart in 2006.
She was captain of the women's basketball team at the University of San Diego.
Following hear death, the Maggie Dixon Award for best rookie Division I head coach was created by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
He brother, Jamie Dixon, was formerly the head coach of the men's basketball team at the University of Pittsburgh.
Louisiana Tech coach Teresa Weatherspoon became the fourth recipient of the Maggie Dixon Award.
