She started drawing at age 4 and got her start by drawing her favorite cartoon characters. She is self-taught.
In July 2017, she uploaded the first drawing tutorial to her YouTube channel, Art by Madison PJ Young.
She was raised near Windsor, Ontario, Canada alongside her younger brother. She grew up playing traveling soccer.
