Lynn Johnston
Cartoonist
Cartoonist who became known for her popular comic strip, For Better or For Worse. She won several awards for her work, which often relates stories and impressions from her childhood in Lynn Lake, Manitoba.
She was born in Ontario and raised in British Columbia, and she trained at the Vancouver School of Art before working for several years at McMaster University as a medical artist.
She was both the first female and the first Canadian recipient of the Reuben Award (presented by the National Cartoonist Society).
She was married twice and had a daughter named Katie and a son named Aaron. She separated from her second husband, Rod Johnston, in 2007.
She and Peanuts creator, Charles Schulz, were close friends.
