He played college soccer at UC Santa Barbara from 2008 to 2011.
He was selected 4th overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.
His father, Saul Silva Segui, died of a stroke during Silva's MLS rookie year.
He was coached by Ben Olsen while playing for DC United.
