Versatile forward who has risen to fame for his decorated international club career, including as a two-time Turkish League champion in 2016 and 2017 with Fenerbahçe. He helped lead the club to three consecutive final four appearances between 2016-2018 with a victory in 2017.
He began playing junior basketball in Olbia. He later made his professional debut in 2003 with Italy's serie A club Montepaschi Siena.
He has played in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics between 2013-2015. He was the Italian League MVP in 2013, and was named the Turkish League finals MVP in 2016.
His parents are of Sardinian descent.
He was traded to the Boston Celtics from the Detroit Piston in 2015 alongside Jonas Jerebko.
