Sprinter from the Dominican Republic who became the first Dominican sprinter to medal at the World Junior Championships in Athletics, where he won gold. He also won two gold medals at the Summer Youth Olympics in 2010.
He got his start running barefoot due to not having money for shoes.
He set Dominican records in the 400m and 4x400m relay events at the 2011 Pan American Games.
His mother was a housewife and his father was a lift operator.
He beat champion American sprinter Jeremy Wariner at the Adidas Grand Prix.
