Ludwig Guttman
Neurologist
German-British neurologist who founded the Stoke Mandeville Games which evolved into England's Paralympic Games.
His family fled Germany before the start of World War II.
In 1943, the British government asked him to establish the National Spinal Injuries Centre at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in an effort to rehabilitate pilots with spinal injuries.
His parents were Bernard and Dorothy Guttmann.
Eddie Marsan played him in a BBC TV film about his life.
