He was only ten years old when his father took office as the President of France. Not long into the Presidency, his parents separated and he would move with his mother to the United States.
He gained media attention during his father's presidency when he threw tomatoes at a police officer.
Born to Nicolas Sarkozy and Cécilia Attias, he is one of six siblings with his brothers, Jean and Pierre, and sisters, Giulia, Jean-Marie, and Judith.
After his parents divorced, his father married model Carla Bruni in 2008.
