He studied art history at Columbia University and was part of Still House Group, a collective of young artists, for years after he graduated.

He grew up in California. He has a brother and his mother, Lisa Eisner, is a their fashion photographer and jewelry designer. He began dating Ashley Olsen in 2017 and in early July 2021, he posted an Instagram Story with pictures of her holding a machete and beer on a nature hike.
