Liz Pichon
Children's Author
British children's book writer and illustrator who wrote The Very Ugly Bug and the Tom Gates series. She won a 2011 Roald Dahl Funny Prize, a 2012 Red House Children's Book Award, and a 2012 Waterstone's Children's Book Prize for her first Tom Gates book, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates.
She was a graphic design student at Camberwell School of Art in London and then worked as an art director for the music label Jive Records.
As an illustrator, she helped Mary Joslin win the 1999 National Parenting Publications Award for her poetry compilation Twilight Rhymes Moonlight Verse.
She grew up with two older sisters and one older brother. She married Mark Flannery.
She was an illustrator for Julia Donaldson's Spinderella.
