Lindsey Jacobellis
Snowboarder
One of the world's greatest snowboarders, she has won countless X Games snowboardcross gold medals, including 7 in a 9 year span from 2003-2011.
She began riding at a very young age.
She is best remembered for an ignominious moment at the 2006 Olympics, when she had a huge lead at the end of the medal rae, only to crash while attempting an unnecessary board grab; she instead won silver.
She was born in Danbury, Connecticut, and was raised in Stratton, Vermont.
She is considered one of snowboarding's brightest modern stars, along with athletes such as Shaun White.
