Tower of Power Horns member and musical director for the Saturday Night Live band for more than a decade.
He taught himself how to play saxophone before joining Tower of Power when he was eighteen years old.
He has taught jazz saxophone at New York University.
He was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and raised in Berkeley, California.
He played saxophone and arranged music for the Talking Heads, as well as for David Byrne's solo work.
