Played the role of Danny Garrison, the lonely boy who befriended rats, in the 1972 horror film, Ben.
His acting debut came in the 1971 Disney film, The Million Dollar Duck.
He continued acting in guest roles throughout the 1970s and 80s, appearing in Columbo, Family Ties, and Dallas, as well as on film in the 1985 film, Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
His sister, Belinda played the role of Doogie's mother on the television series, Doogie Howser M.D.
Sarah Jessica Parker starred with him in the film, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which marked one of his final on-screen appearances.
