Film and TV actor most remembered for his roles on the shows Roseanne, Moesha, and Welcome Back, Kotter, among many others. He played Mandingo in the 2007 film Sublime.
He briefly attended Wilkes University in Pennsylvania before starting his professional career.
He worked as a back-up singer, creating vocals for Rick James' 1981 album, Street Songs.
He was born to Hilton and Clothilda Jacobs and was one of nine children.
He once appeared on the sitcom Moesha, which starred Brandy as the title character.
