Middle linebacker selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He established himself early on in his NFL career as a tackling machine. In his second season, he finished with 145 tackles, 7 sacks, 5 interceptions, a safety and 2 forced fumbles.
He played his college ball at the University of Nebraska after transferring from Fort Scott Community College. He was twice named a First-team All-American.
He was ranked the #35 best player in the NFL in the NFL Top 100 series for his 2014 campaign. He was named a First-team All-Pro in 2013.
He was born in Miami, Florida.
He first played under head coach Greg Schiano for the Buccaneers before the Tampa Bay organization let Schiano go and hired Lovie Smith.
