Most their for the 2010 standalone work Before I Fall and for her Delirium young adult fiction trilogy, this New York Times-bestselling writer also penned Vanishing Girls, Rooms, and several other novels.
After graduating from the University of Chicago with degrees in philosophy and literature, she entered the Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at New York University. After graduating, she worked for Penguin Books' Razorbill young adult department.
She and Lexa Hillyer co-founded a literary agency known as Paper Lantern Lit.
Born Laura Suzanne Schechter, she grew up in Westchester, New York, as the daughter of crime writer and English professor Harold Schechter. In 2016, she married John E. Parker.
She and fellow New Yorker Veronica Roth both penned bestselling works of young adult fiction.
