Lars Jansson
Cartoonist
Author and comic strip artist who became known for his work on the long-running "Moomin" cartoon.
His sister, the famed writerTove Jansson, first gave him the job of writing 'Moomin' in 1958; he proceeded to illustrate it from 1961 until 1974.
He partnered with Dennis Livson on Japan's "Moomin" animated series from 1990 until 1992.
His father, Viktor Jansson, was a sculptor, and his mother, Signe Hammarsten-Jansson, was an illustrator.
He and "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz were a part of the same industry.
