Larry Knechtel
Pianist
Musician and performer known for his work on many hit songs associated with Phil Spector and The Wrecking Crew.
He became a member of the California rock and roll band Kip Tyler and the Flips in 1957.
He played the piano on the 1970 Simon and Garfunkel hit Bridge over Troubled Water for which he won a Grammy.
He was survived by his family when he died of a heart attack in 2009.
He was also skilled with the harmonica and electric bass guitar, which he used on The Byrds' cover of Mr. Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan.
