Professional first baseman and outfielder known for playing with the San Francisco Giants. He has been noticed for being skilled at batting under pressure and late in the game.
He playing in college for the University of Maryland Terrapins. He was picked up in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins. He was traded to the Giants in February 2021.
He earned the nickname "Late Night LaMonte" and "Late Inning LaMonte." He won the Willie Mac Award for being inspirational to the team.
He was born in Owings Mill, Maryland. He has a brother named Jamal who also played for the University of Maryland Terrapins.
He has worked with Giants team manager Gabe Kapler.
