Lady Miss Kier
Pop Singer
Co-producer and frontwoman of the house and dance group Dee-Lite who released the 1990 club staple "Groove is in the Heart."
She studied fashion and textile design at the Fashion Institute of Technology before a chance meeting brought her to music.
Her fashion background helped her create Dee-Lite's eccentric looks, taking retro 1960s fashions and exaggerating them to absurd effect.
She met her husband Dmitry Brill when he was working the Brooklyn club scene as Super DJ Dmitri.
After ending her run with Dee-Lite, she wrote and performed with artists like Bootsy Collins and George Clinton.
