Long snapper who made his NFL debut in 2012 for the San Diego Chargers, after a few stints in 2011 on practice squads and futures contracts.
He played college football at New Mexico State, where he was a tight end and fullback, in addition to being a long snapper.
He increased his games played in his first three NFL seasons: 0 in 2011, 6 in 2012, and 11 in 2013.
His father, Mark Nelson, and his grandfather, Roger Nelson, both played professionally in the Canadian Football League.
In 2013 he signed with Washington and played for head coach Mike Shanahan.
