He originally intended to be a doctor, and studied biochemistry with the goal of researching cancer before attending an arts school and changing his mind.
He had a regular role on Joan or Arcadia, where he was one of the incarnations of God that appeared before the title character.
He grew up in Brampton, Ontario, the oldest of three children; his mother was a school teacher and his father ran a heating business.
He also had a regular role on the 2003 remake of Dragnet, produced by Dick Wolf.
