Striker who made his senior career debut in 2006 for Borussia Monchengladbach II, and joined Greece's national team in 2009.
He played youth soccer at SV Neukirchen, TuS Preussen Vluyn, MSV Duisburg, and Borussia Monchengladbach.
In 2011-12, while playing for Olympiacos, he was named the Superleague Greece Greek Player of the Year.
He was born in Kavala, Greece, but moved to Neukirchen-Vluyn, Germany, at a young age.
In a critical 3-1 victory over Romania in the 2014 World Cup Qualifying playoff, he had two assists, including one to Kostas Katsouranis.
