Professional pitcher that was signed by the Texas Rangers in December 2020. Prior to playing major league baseball, he played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of the Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball league. While playing for the Nippon-Ham Fighters, he was a two-time NPB All-Star, a Japan Series Championship winner and the Pacific League Rookie of the Year in 2015.
He attended Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
He made his major league debut pitching against the Kansas City Royals on April 3, 2021.
He is a native of Hiroshima, Japan.
