She studied computer science at Kim Il-sung University.
She was placed on the US Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals List in 2017.
She is the daughter of Kim Jong-il and the younger sister of Kim Jong-un.
She and fellow politician Syngman Rhee were both born in North Korea.
