He began karting at Sugar River Raceway in Brodhead, Wisconsin when he was 9 and began competing in national karting events at the age of 12.
He was the 2006 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Champion.
He was born in Mauston, Wisconsin.
He made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at the 2012 Lenox Industrial Tools 301, which was won by Kasey Kahne.
