Kazimierz Fajans
Physicist
Pioneer in the science of radioactivity who found the half-lives of several elements and discovered several key laws of radioactivity. He is also know for his Displacement law and his Rules for co-precipitaton.
After completing his studies in chemistry and radioactivity, he taught at several German universities, before fleeing to American to escape Nazi persecution.
Working his with partner Henry G. Moseley, his important discoveries would go on to help future scientists separate out and clean small amounts of radioactive substances.
He was born in Warsaw, Poland.
His breakthrough work came in the laboratories of Ernest Rutherford.
