She was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio.
She ran track for the Stivers School for the Arts, competing in the 100, 200, 400, and 60 meter dash as well as the long jump.
She visited her brother in Orlando, Florida after he moved there.
She was born on the same day and in the same year as dancer Brennan Clost.
