American religious leader who was known as a faith healer and evangelist between the 1940s and 1970s. She had a nationally aired weekly television program called I Believe in Miracles.
She was "born again" in the Methodist Church of Concordia when she was 14 years old and and started preaching in Baptist Churches at the age of 16.
She conducted faith healings in Los Angeles for thousands of people in the 1970s as an heir to Aimee Semple McPherson.
She was married to Burroughs Allen Waltrip from 1938 until 1948.
She was an influence on fellow faith healer Benny Hinn.
