After appearing as Robert Sugden on ITV's Emmerdale, Davies starred as Lyle Anderson on the drama series Kingdom. He also appeared in episodes of The Syndicate, Game of Thrones, and Happy Valley.
In 2000, he made his television debut on ITV's Fat Friends. He was subsequently cast as Nick Pullen in several episodes of Peak Practice.
His stage credits include the Tricycle Theatre's international tour of The Great Game: Afghanistan and Propeller Theatre productions of A Winter's Tale and Henry V.
He grew up in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. From 2005 until 2007, he was romantically involved with fellow Emmerdale cast member Jenna-Louise Coleman.
One of his Emmerdale storylines revolved around his character's affair with the character played by actress Patsy Kensit.
