Karen Russell
Novelist
A Pulitzer Prize-nominated author, she became their for her debut novel, Swamplandia! She was the 2013 recipient of the MacArthur Foundation's Genius Grant.
She earned an MFA from Columbia University after graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in Spanish.
She penned several short story collections, including Vampires in the Lemon Grove and St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves.
She grew up in Miami, Florida and graduated in 1999 from Coral Gables Senior High School.
She shared a 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction nomination with Louise Erdrich .
