Japanese freestyle wrestler and three-time Olympic gold medalist, winning in 2004, 2008 and 2012 in the 63 kilogram weight class.
She won her first gold medal in International Competition at the 2002 World Championships.
She won a total of 10 gold medals in International Competition between Olympics and World Championships.
Her older sister Chiharu Icho is also a competitive wrestler.
She won gold at the 2012 Olympics where LeBron James helped lead Team USA to a gold in basketball.
