Jazz and pop singer who recorded "Cry Me a River" in 1955 and who acted for almost forty years in films like The Wonderful Country.
She grew up in San Bernadino, but moved to Hollywood when she was fourteen; she began acting soon after her family moved.
She was known for her smoky, husky voice, as well as for her role as a nurse on the medical drama show Emergency!
She married Jack Webb on July 16, 1947 and, after their divorce in 1954, she married Bobby Troup on December 31, 1959.
In 1961, she covered the song "Blue Moon," written by Lorenz Hart.
